The IDEO Palo Alto play team cast this second of two videos in a future where the experience of play is shaped by the context of expensive electricity – where schools make it mandatory for children to play in order to offset the expensive fossil fuel charges. Essie, the main character, goes so far as to steal energy from a fellow student so that she can later animate her own pretend world, which is... entirely dependent on electric power.
